About

Clean and Native started with a simple observation: the health conversation in Australia is almost entirely focused on what you eat, how you move, and how you sleep. Almost nobody is talking about the environment those things happen inside.

Your water. Your air. Your electromagnetic environment. These aren’t fringe concerns — they’re measurable inputs that affect how your body functions every single day. And for most Australians, they’re completely unexamined.

Where It Started

Jayce Attard spent over a decade operating in some of the most demanding environments on earth. As a Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver and TAG-E counter-terrorism operator, he was trained to assess risk in complex, high-stakes situations — to identify the variables that most people overlook.

Before that, he grew up competing in surf lifesaving, training seven to ten sessions per week from a young age. That combination — elite physical conditioning, operational discipline, and a deep familiarity with water and natural environments — shaped how he thinks about performance and recovery.

“In the water, you can’t fake it. You either prepared your environment or you didn’t. Coming home, I started noticing how little attention we pay to the environments we actually live in. Our houses, our water, the air we breathe inside — most people have no idea what’s in any of it.”

— Jayce Attard, Founder

After leaving the military, Jayce began systematically investigating the environmental health factors most commonly overlooked in Australian households. What he found — in tap water quality reports, indoor air monitoring data, and EMF research — was that most Australians are being quietly exposed to levels of contamination, pollution, and electromagnetic stress they simply don’t know about.

Clean and Native is his attempt to close that gap.

What We Do

We research, test, and report on three core pillars of a clean home environment:

💧

Clean Water

We analyse tap water quality data across Australian states and territories, evaluate water filtration options, and explain what the contaminants in your water actually do. Our goal is to help you make an informed decision about your water supply — not sell you a filter you don’t need.

🌿

Clean Air

Australian homes trap a significant cocktail of pollutants — from building materials, furnishings, cleaning products, and cooking — often at concentrations well above outdoor air. We cover the sources, the health implications, and the solutions that actually work.

📡

Reduced EMF

Electromagnetic fields are a real, measurable phenomenon. The science on health effects is evolving, but the precautionary case for reducing unnecessary exposure in your home is strong. We explain what EMF is, how to measure it, and what practical steps you can take.

How We Approach It

We are not fearmongerers. We don’t believe in selling anxiety to shift product. We also don’t dismiss legitimate environmental concerns because they’re inconvenient for industry or government.

Our approach is:

  • Evidence-first. We cite peer-reviewed research and official data sources. We distinguish between established science, emerging evidence, and speculation.
  • Practical. We focus on actions you can take — particularly low-cost, high-impact changes.
  • Australian-specific. Most environmental health content is written for American or European audiences. We focus on Australian water sources, Australian building standards, Australian EMF regulations, and Australian products.
  • Honest about what we don’t know. Where the science is unclear, we say so.
