Jayce Love is the founder of Clean and Native, an Australian site dedicated to helping people understand and optimise their home environment — specifically clean water, clean air, and reduced EMF exposure.
His background is unusual for a health content creator. Before launching Clean and Native, Jayce spent over a decade in demanding operational environments as a Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver and TAG-E (Tactical Assault Group East) counter-terrorism operator — roles that required him to assess risk systematically, perform under extreme physiological stress, and operate in environments where the smallest environmental variable could have life-or-death consequences.
Background
Competitive Surf Lifesaving
Grew up competing in surf lifesaving from a young age, training 7–10 sessions per week. Developed a deep understanding of athletic conditioning, ocean environments, and the physiological demands of sustained high-performance training.
Royal Australian Navy — Clearance Diver
Served as a Clearance Diver, one of the most demanding roles in the Australian Defence Force. Clearance Divers are trained in explosive ordnance disposal, combat swimming, and covert underwater operations. The role demands exceptional physical conditioning and the ability to maintain composure in zero-visibility, high-pressure environments.
TAG-E Counter-Terrorism Operator
Selected for Tactical Assault Group East (TAG-E), Australia’s elite counter-terrorism unit. Operated in high-risk environments requiring advanced tactical decision-making, physical readiness, and the ability to identify and mitigate risk under pressure.
Founding Clean and Native
After leaving the military, Jayce began investigating the environmental health factors that most Australians ignore — water quality, indoor air pollution, and electromagnetic exposure. Found that the operational mindset he developed in the Navy translated directly to environmental health assessment: identify the variables, measure them, and take targeted action.
Areas of Expertise
Water Quality
Australian tap water contaminants, filtration technology, and state-by-state water utility data.
Indoor Air Quality
VOCs, particulates, mould, combustion byproducts, and ventilation strategies for Australian homes.
EMF Assessment
Electromagnetic field measurement, interpretation of Australian exposure standards, and home remediation.
Performance & Recovery
Environmental factors affecting athletic performance, sleep quality, and physiological resilience.
Editorial Approach
Jayce brings a military analyst’s mindset to environmental health research — which means he has little patience for hysteria, but equally little patience for dismissing legitimate concerns without evidence. Every article on Clean and Native is written to answer two questions:
- What does the evidence actually say?
- What should you do about it?
He distinguishes carefully between established science, emerging research, and speculation — and says so explicitly when the evidence is unclear. His recommendations are prioritised by impact and practicality, not fear.
All content is written specifically for an Australian context: Australian water quality standards, Australian building materials, Australian EMF regulations, and Australian suppliers. Most environmental health content online is produced for American or European audiences. Clean and Native fills that gap.
