This is the system under my sink, and has been for about 18 months: tap water at 69 ppm TDS, filtered water at 3 ppm. The first full service cost me $490 all-in, booked through Pure Water Systems. If you want a certified under-sink filter without reverse osmosis, this is the cheaper route: Frizzlife says it is IAPMO certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. Standard 53 covers health contaminants, but Frizzlife does not list which ones, so if lead is your concern, check the IAPMO listing for lead before you buy. It keeps minerals and will not lower TDS, and it has no certified fluoride reduction. Unchanged at $249.99 since 19 October.

Check the certificate, not the badge

NSF/ANSI 372 appears on many listings, including the C1S and 10UA. It certifies that the materials are lead-free, not that the filter removes anything. “Tested to NSF standards” is also not the same as certified: it means the maker ran a test, not that an independent body certified and audits the product.
